Quick Makeover for a Girls Night Out.

Okay it’s Friday night. After being stuck in the office the whole day, you finally get off work at 7 pm. You’ve got a Girls Night Out with your best girlfriends (ala Sex and the City) and you don’t want to waste any more time being a plain Jane. You take a shower and begin the process of making yourself gorgeous and irresistible.

A typical full face makeup usually requires:-

1. Foundation
2. Colour corrector
3. Concealer
4. Loose powder
5. Light eyeshadow for base
6. Medium coloured eyeshadow
7. Dark coloured eyeshadow
8. Eyeliner
9. Mascara
10. Eyebrow pencil
11. Eyebrow powder
12. Blusher
13. Shading powder
14. Lipliner
15. Lip colour
16. Lipgloss

That’s a total of 16 products!!!

I don’t know about you, but for a full face makeup with all the products mentioned above, I need at least ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES to complete my makeup. How long do you take to get ready?

That’s one hour fifteen minutes less for me to party with my girls on a happening Friday night. For those of you who wants a easy-to-do-in-the-shortest-time-possible makeup (and don’t want to stay at home any longer than necessary) I propose this simple but polished look with a focus on lips that will definitely get the guys looking and the girls envying! And it’ll probably take only 15 minutes from start to stop!

You only need 6 products. That’s right, SIX, less than half of what is required for a full face makeup, with effects just as great!

1. Foundation
2. Loose powder
3. Lipstick
4. Eyeliner
5. Mascara
6. Eyebrow powder

Foundation

Apply foundation all over face with a foundation brush. Since we are not using concealer today, apply a thin layer of foundation at the under eye area, as well as the lid.

Blusher (using lipstick)

Crème blushers are generally more long lasting than powder blushers for a long night of dancing, so that is what I have used. But… I do not have any crème blusher. Instead, I just use the Maybelline Water Shine 3D Collagen lipstick in shade 401.

Yes it’s a lipstick but it works just as well on the cheeks and goes on really smoothly. I didn’t have to worry about uneven application because Maybelline Water Shine 3D Collagen lipsticks are made of natural oils and collagen instead of the usual hard waxes used in lipsticks. It glided on easily on my face, so just imagine how much easier applying it on your lips would be.

Moreover, the Water Shine 3D Collagen lipstick has tiny specks of shimmers in it, so it will also highlight your cheeks, making them stand out! This is what the colour that I used on my cheeks (shade 401) looks like.

Powder

Apply a thin layer of powder all over face to set the foundation and ‘crème blusher’ that you’ve applied earlier. Use a powder brush to avoid the overly powdered look. Don’t forget the under eye area, as well as on your lids (because you won’t be using any eyeshadow in this look).

Eyeliner

Draw a thick line on your top lashlines using eyeliner of your choice. Here I used gel liner on the top lashline for a more pronounced and dramatic look.

I’ve also used pencil liner for the bottom lashline. Line your whole eye, make sure that you get an intense line that is not harsh to look at.

Mascara

Now, curl your lashes and sweep on the mascara. Put on a few coats for a darker and more dramatic effect. I’ve got very short lashes so no pics here!

Eyebrow powder

Fill in your eyebrows. I prefer to use eyebrow powder because I’m more comfortable with it, but if you prefer to use pencil, please do so by all means.

Lipstick

Apply powder all over lips to ensure lip colour lasts the whole night. Then apply a bright coloured lipstick. I use a lipbrush to apply lip colour so that it looks fuller and tidier.

Lips + Maybelline Water Shine 3D Collagen lipstick

Can you see how my lips look so much more juicy and moisturised with the creamy smooth lipstick? My lips are really dry with lots of visible lipline so matte lipstick is a big no-no as it will just amplify the liplines. Here I use the Maybelline Water Shine 3D Collagen in shade 301.

The lip colour goes on from sheer to medium colour. If you like just a hint of colour, just swipe once on your lips. Want more intense colour? Add a few more coats on your lips. Don’t worry about the drying effects of putting too much lipstick on as this lipstick goes on really smoothly due to its pure water and aqua-collagen ingredients.

The verdict: My lips stayed moisturised and kissable the whole night.
