Review: Malian Eyebrow Template

I have very little brow hair, so the first makeup technique that I tried to learn and master was drawing my eyebrows. It used to take me very long to draw on brows that are symmetrical - nearly 20 minutes each time JUST FOR EYEBROWS. (btw, eventually I learnt that eyebrows are sisters, not twins, if you get what I mean)

So when I saw this eyebrow template when I was shopping over the weekend, I thought hey, this would make life simpler for a lot of people so I bought it to test it out. I mean, it's only RM4 (about USD1) and if it doesn't work... well it's only RM4 ;)

It looks funky, doesn't it? Very galatica like.

I chose pink cos pink is girly and I figured you guys would like pink better ;P there's purple and blue too.

This is how you're supposed to use it

Then you fill in the brows using either eyebrow PENCIL or POWDER or you could use both.

And the results...

Using brow pencil.. urm... The pencil couldn't reach some parts of the template, so I thought using brow powder might be better...

Applying brow powder using a brush let me reach those unreachable corners when using pencil, but... the result turned out to be messier using brow powder.

So... I deduce that:-

  1. I still need to learn how to use this eyebrow template thingy.
  2. I probably need to spend more time instead of just drawing it in for less than 30 seconds and calling it a done job.
  3. I just wasted RM 4.
Anyhow, if you guys are interested to try this out, you could buy it from Magicboo at Level 3, Sg Wang Plaza, or you could just buy it from me. LOL. JK. I'm actually quite keen on figuring out how to use this properly.

There are instructions at the back of the pack, but it's in Japanese and I just don't understand the graphic in the middle. Does anyone wanna interpret?

bummer that it didn't work out for you! I've seen this before but yeah, I was pretty skeptical. I think those eyebrow template sheets would be more flexible to use.
Well, the key to having good brows is to have it well-shaped in the first place. I also use the angling technique using the brush handle (where to end the tail, where to start, where to arch, etc.) to balance out my brows and it has been working well! I usually suck at brows too. lol. I've never filled in my brows until recently.
