Stage brand makeup

sister just bought November 08's edition of Cleo mag. Saw a huge ad for Stage Makeup. Tried to google it but found nothing. Ok I admit I was impatient cos I only scrolled thru 2 pages of search results.

What is this brand? Where did it come from?

From the lack of info I can only say it's probably a private brand manufactured from some oem factory. Anyone else got info on it? What's the quality like? Do disregard the marketing concepts tho.

Price wise pretty middle market. 45 bucks for a single shadow while bobbi brown is about 70 bucks. MAC is 60 over.

lol. i bought the cleo but havent got the time to read it. these days quite alot of OEM stuff, so i am not surprised if it is OEM as well

LOL...it's not OEM - their storefront is in Pavilion.. :)

quality-wise i'd reckon it can give brands like Makeup Forever and MAC a run for their money - I liked their eyeliner in particular..very smooth!

Stage is a homegrown Malaysian brand just like Bloop de Paris, Beautilicious and Elianto.

I lingered over there and I was kinda disappointed. The good thing about homegrown brands is that they're usually affordable but I honestly would not pay RM45 for a single eyeshadow (and the color payoff and selection were not impressive either. but then again, they're new)when I can pay 12 bucks more for a MAC. Just saying. or less for Makeup Store (that has excellent color payoff). When I asked the SA to recommend me their star product, he showed me their eye makeup remover. -_- A makeup brand and the best product you have is an eye makeup remover? I just find it a tad odd. I also tested some concealer. they were alright but still a little too pricey.

I'm all for giving MAC/MUFE-style ripoff brands a try but if they're gonna set their prices so high, why not pay a little more and get the better one? If I were to buy a cheaper rip-off brand, I'd rather go for PAC (Indonesian brand). The display at Guardian may be like crap but the single shadows (RM21)are gorgeous. The cream blush is nice too. Just limited selection here.
Anyway, the brand's still very new so we'll see how it goes. maybe it'll develop into something cool. IDK.
phew! that's long! Toodles.

MAC is expensive yes but what about the quality check?it is the best in the market when comes to quality...it's good to have a mix of both as only expensive makeup can not be the solution always.
